Cheltenham Races

Again, hate to be the bearer of bad news but my work schedule and social life just keep finding a way to trump my blog at the minute so huge apologies for my blogs or lack there of, as it may seem. I have made a vow to myself to do at least one a week, I promise!

For any of you who don't know Cheltenham is a racing festival which is held every year and this year has been my second year travelling the distance to attend. As a northerner I stood out like a sore thumb in my skimpy dress and 9 inch heels against the fur and tweed fashioned on everyone else's outfits that day but you have to revel in the chaos, and I found downing numerous wines and whiskeys helped too.

Above are my favourite outfits or items as it may seem. First up (going left to right) is the lady with rose hat. I'm pretty sure she attends Aintree every year and each time I've been amazed by her outfit choice, in the best way possible. The jacket and hat are what stand out most for me, I would of gone for a more elegant footwear, maybe a strappy gold heel or something but still, she rocks it all.

The next one is simply based on this girls hat! The subtle leopard print add certain je ne sais quoi to the outfit and I just can't put my finger on it but I know I like it unfortunately searching "red leopard hat that girl wore at Cheltenham" isn't enough to help me find this beauty.

The women in red. Red everything and she looks like royalty, I'm never a fan of having an entire outfit the one colour but this lady proved me wrong. The fur rim on the bottom of her coat add a touch of elegance and class to her outfit along with her hat, it's all about the hats and she did the hat community proud. Bravo.

Finally, although this outfit isn't my favourite I thought I would add it into my collection because this lady is just pure Cheltenham, if you merged every outfit of every girl at Cheltenham that day, it would probably concoct this. Although nice, I find it's not my cup of tea, I like a girl to stand out from the crowd, expect more of that with my upcoming Aintree blog! Scouse girls know how to do racing, trust me...I know!

Ladies Day at Cheltenham is just round the corner and as someone who's dad taught her to bet at 5 years old, I'm pretty exited to say the least. River Island is my all-time favourite so I thought I'd combine the 2 to create my dream, and I use the term dream loosely as that's all it will ever be *sigh*. As it's Cheltenham and not Aintree it's best to keep things as classy as possible, I'm talking no thigh high skirts and tits on show unfortunately ladies. I thought I would stick with a LBD with a leathery twist, you can't go wrong with a black dress, classy and sophisticated. I teamed it with the a grey duster Jacket just in case the weather decides to be typically English on this particular day, along with that a white tote bag with gold lining, double straps of course, what else! heels and jewellery to match the gold theme along with a grey oversized hat and sunnies! I LOVE this look so I'm currently scowering the internet for cheap rip offs but nothing is even coming close...send help!
